Mario: Hey, listener - yes, you! Are you interested in computer science at the University of Toronto? Are you looking for valuable and relevant information regarding life as a computer science student? Well, I’ve got just the podcast for you! It’s called “In the Loop” and it’s got me, Professor Mario Badr, and my co-host, Professor Diane Horton.
Diane: Our new podcast is here to guide you as you explore the field of computer science. Whether you're interested in research or industry, courses or programs, we keep you In the Loop. And we do it by interviewing faculty and fellow students, who share their insights, experience, and advice about our fast-paced field.

Helen: I think the Explore program is a really great opportunity for students who are kind of stepping like making their first step in the tech industry.
Sam: Yeah, I basically would just take a night and spend two or three hours sending out, you know, 10 to 20 applications.
Sarah: …I've always been interested in creative writing. And I thought that may be some, there might be some kind of connection between computer science and creative writing.
Rahul: I think machine learning is sort of, as my colleague once put it, a field of immigrants, there's just a lot of, it's a blend of different kinds of tools and techniques all coming together with the common aim of extracting patterns from data.
Nathan: In fact, in those times, Google was still trying to figure out how to be profitable, how do you make search profitable.
